Dr. Beal is truly doing the Lords work 🙌🏻. I originally went to see him for facial mole removal but also brought up my rosacea, and he completely got it under control. I had a couple of facial moles removed with laser treatment, and the whole experience was fantastic — he explained all the aftercare clearly, and I had no scarring at all. He always takes the time to ask if you have any other concerns and really listens, which makes such a difference. The staff are all so lovely and friendly too. My only “complaint” is that I wish he wasn’t an hour away, which ideally saves me from spending too much money. But Definitely worth the drive though!!!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for leaving us a stellar review!

What Is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift is a cosmetic surgery that elevates the eyebrows’ position and smooths forehead creases. It often improves the appearance of heavy upper eyelids, creating a more open, youthful eye area and improving facial harmony.

Several types of brow lifts are available, each designed for specific anatomical and aesthetic needs. We offer all of them at St. Louis Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery.

Signs You May Benefit from a Brow Lift

You may be a candidate for brow lift surgery if you experience:

  • Drooping or flat eyebrows
  • Horizontal forehead lines or furrows
  • Vertical lines between the brows (glabellar lines)
  • A tired, angry, or aged appearance at rest
  • Hooding of the upper eyelids is not addressed by blepharoplasty alone

This is especially common in adults 40+ as skin elasticity declines.

Types of Brow Lifts Offered at St. Louis Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery

🔹 1. Endoscopic Brow Lift (Minimally Invasive)

  • Small incisions hidden in the hairline
  • Uses a camera-guided technique to lift the brow tissue
  • Less scarring and quicker recovery
  • Ideal for younger patients or those with moderate brow descent

🔹 2. Coronal (Classic) Brow Lift

  • Incision from ear to ear across the scalp
  • Allows for complete lifting and repositioning of forehead muscles and skin
  • Best for patients with deep wrinkles or significant brow sagging

🔹 3. Temporal (Lateral) Brow Lift

  • Small incisions at the temples
  • Focuses on lifting the outer third of the brow
  • Subtle yet effective — ideal for patients with early signs of aging

🔹 4. Direct or Mid-Forehead Brow Lift

  • Incision placed just above the brow or within forehead lines
  • Suitable for men or patients with heavy brows and high hairlines

What to Expect During Brow Lift Surgery

At SLD, brow lifts are typically performed as outpatient procedures under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.

Procedure Steps:

  1. Pre-op consultation: Mapping your ideal brow height and symmetry
  2. Anesthesia administration: Local or general, depending on the technique
  3. Incisions made: Hidden in the hairline or within natural creases
  4. Lifting and repositioning: Muscles adjusted, and skin gently lifted
  5. Closure: Incisions closed with sutures or staples

Surgery time typically ranges from 60 to 90 minutes.

Recovery Timeline

  • Days 1–3: Swelling, bruising, and tightness around the forehead and eyes
  • Day 5–7: Suture removal (if applicable)
  • Week 1–2: Most patients return to work and light activity
  • Week 4–6: Swelling resolves, and results begin to appear naturally
  • 3+ months: Incision lines continue to fade

You’ll receive personalized aftercare instructions and follow-up visits to ensure optimal healing.
