Resurfacing & Light Treatments
These treatments address tone, texture, sun damage, redness, and the eye area, and they’re shown here with real before-and-after results from Dr. Beal’s patients.
Laser Resurfacing
Ablative and non-ablative resurfacing for wrinkles, scars, sun damage, and texture, from gentle to deeper correction.
CoolPeel
The lighter end of CO2 resurfacing, a refresh for tone, texture, and fine lines with only a few days of downtime.
CO2 Laser Blepharoplasty
A non-surgical way to tighten and smooth the eyelid area, softening crepey skin and fine lines around the eyes.
M22 IPL
Broad-spectrum light for brown spots, sun damage, redness, and broken capillaries, on the face, chest, and hands.
Photodynamic Therapy
Light-activated treatment for precancerous growths, sun damage, and acne, sitting between medical and aesthetic care.
Collagen-Building Treatments
These non-ablative treatments build collagen gradually to firm and smooth the skin over a series of sessions. A consultation is the best way to see whether they fit your goals.
ResurFx
A non-ablative fractional laser that improves texture, fine lines, and scars by stimulating new collagen, with minimal downtime and gradual, natural results over a series of treatments.
RF Microneedling
Fine needles paired with radiofrequency energy to firm and smooth the skin and soften scars. Because the energy doesn’t target pigment, it’s generally suitable across a wide range of skin tones.
The Right Tool for Your Skin
“Laser” covers a lot of ground, and no single device does everything. The best results come from matching the treatment to the concern: light-based treatments like IPL excel at color, brown spots and redness, while fractional resurfacing targets texture, scars, and fine lines, and energy treatments like RF microneedling firm and tighten. Because Dr. Beal’s daily surgical work gives him a deep understanding of the skin’s structure, the recommendation you receive is based on what your skin actually needs, not on a one-size-fits-all package.
Color, Texture, or Firmness
A simple way to think about it: if your main concern is color, brown spots, redness, or uneven tone, M22 IPL or photodynamic therapy is often the starting point. If it’s texture, fine lines, scars, or roughness, laser resurfacing, CoolPeel, or ResurFx may fit better. And if it’s firmness or mild laxity, RF microneedling adds a tightening effect. Many patients combine more than one over time.
When Another Approach Fits Better
Lasers do a great deal, but they aren’t always the answer. When loose skin or a structural change is the real issue, we’ll say so honestly, and Dr. Beal’s surgical options may be the better path. The goal is always the result that genuinely serves you.

Common questions
Lasers & Resurfacing FAQs.
Which laser treatment is right for me?
It depends on your main concern. Color concerns like brown spots and redness often start with IPL or photodynamic therapy; texture, scars, and fine lines point toward laser resurfacing, CoolPeel, or ResurFx; and firmness or mild laxity may suit RF microneedling. You don’t have to arrive with the answer, your consultation is where we match the treatment to your skin.
How much downtime do laser treatments involve?
It varies by treatment. Lighter, non-ablative options like ResurFx, IPL, and RF microneedling typically involve little downtime, often a day or two. Deeper ablative resurfacing involves more visible healing, around one to two weeks. Each treatment’s page explains what to expect, and your provider will walk you through it.
Are laser treatments safe for darker skin tones?
Some treatments are better suited to deeper skin tones than others. RF microneedling, for example, doesn’t rely on pigment and is generally suitable across a wide range of skin tones, while certain light-based and ablative treatments carry more risk of pigment changes. This is exactly why a consultation matters, so the approach is chosen for your skin type.
How many sessions will I need?
Some treatments work in a single session, while non-ablative options like ResurFx, RF microneedling, and IPL are usually done as a series to build results gradually. The number depends on the treatment and your goals, and is set together at your consultation.
Can laser treatments be combined with other procedures?
Yes, and they often are. Color, texture, and firmness can be addressed with different tools over time, and laser treatments also pair well with injectables for fuller rejuvenation. Your provider will recommend only what genuinely serves your goals.
