How can I make my Hands look Younger?

Youthful hands are soft, with minimal veins, tendons, and bony prominences. As we age, our hands reveal signs of aging. The backs of our hands become skeletonized, and our bony prominences and veins become more pronounced. This is due to soft tissue volume loss. With an understanding of anatomy and skillful filler placement, we can restore your hands’ natural, youthful fullness. This is a remarkable procedure with immediate results that typically continue to improve in the 1-2 weeks after injection.

What can dermal fillers do for you?

  1. Decrease the appearance of veins, tendons, and bones on the backs of your hands.
  2. Restore your hand volume to a natural and youthful fullness

The backs of your hands show signs of aging, similar to your face.

We want you to leave our office looking like yourself with natural, refreshed results.

What are cosmetic fillers?

Dermal cosmetic fillers are a non-surgical option for facial rejuvenation. They can soften lines and restore volume and fullness to the backs of your hands. This technique is also known as soft tissue augmentation. Soft tissue augmentation can enhance facial contours and soften wrinkles, helping you look as good as you feel.

In the hands of skilled, expert cosmetic dermatologists, fillers can restore and enhance natural beauty with subtlety and immediate results. By deeply understanding anatomy and aging, we can address the underlying causes of aging and wrinkles, giving you a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

Today’s fillers are safer, longer lasting, and provide more predictable results than older generations of fillers.

Our expert cosmetic dermatologists will listen to you during your consultation, perform a thorough evaluation, and provide an individualized treatment plan to address your needs and concerns.

What types of fillers are used for hand rejuvenation?

Radiesse (Calcium Hydroxylapatite)

Calcium hydroxylapatite is a naturally occurring compound in our bones. It provides excellent correction for deeper creases, such as restoring fullness to the backs of our hands. It can also enhance the fullness of the cheeks and other facial contours. Radiesse®  lasts approximately twelve months.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers (Juvederm or Restylane products)

Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are the most popular fillers used today. HA is a natural substance found in your skin. HA fillers can provide a nice lift, which is perfect for enhancing the backs of your hands. HA fillers are non-permanent fillers that last 12 to 24 months, depending on the type of filler and individual patient characteristics. Common HA products include Juvederm® and Restylane®.

Are cosmetic injectable fillers safe?

All procedures carry some risk. Complications from injectable fillers are uncommon when performed by board-certified cosmetic dermatologists.

Possible risks and considerations regarding injectable fillers include:

  • Mild bleeding, bruising, and swelling
    • Under or over-correction of wrinkles
    • Skin nodules
    • Infection
    • Skin necrosis (rare with proper technique and expert injectors)
